My story

Hi, I'm Holleigh - the owner of Holleigh's Bakehouse & Ceramics.

What started as a love of baking, creating and bringing people together has slowly grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

I originally started Holleigh's Kitchen from home, baking cakes, brownies, cookies and all sorts of treats for people in the local area. From there came The Bake Shed, my little honesty-box bake shed, and with every order, customer and conversation, I realised just how much I loved running my own small business and being a part of the local community.

But I always had bigger ideas bubbling away.

I wanted to create somewhere that was about more than just grabbing a coffee or buying a cake. I wanted a space where people could actually slow down, switch off and spend time together.

That idea became Holleigh's Bakehouse & Ceramics.

At 25, I decided to take the slightly terrifying leap of opening my own shop in the heart of Crowle. I've been incredibly lucky to have the support of my family, friends and the local community while turning an empty shop into the cosy, creative space I had pictured in my head.

The Bakehouse & Ceramics bring together two things I absolutely love: good cake and getting creative.

You'll be able to pop in for homemade bakes and coffee, or settle in for a couple of hours and paint your own piece of pottery. Whether you're coming with the kids, meeting a friend, having a date, celebrating something special or simply fancying some quiet time to yourself, I want everyone to feel comfortable walking through the door.

Creating a calm and welcoming environment has been really important to me from the beginning. There's no pressure to be artistic, no expectation that your pottery has to be perfect and absolutely no need to rush. Pick something you love, choose your colours and enjoy the process - we'll take care of the glazing and firing afterwards.

More than anything, I want the shop to become somewhere that feels like part of the community. Somewhere for people recognise familiar faces, bring their families, meet friends, celebrate birthdays, join workshops and events, or simply sit down with a coffee and a slice of cake.

The business has already grown far beyond the little home bakery I started with, but the heart of it hasn't really changed.

It's still about making things, sharing good food and creating something that makes people happy.

I can't wait to welcome you in.
